hello! i’m sara. i’m 21 and an astrophysics student. (i mainly use this blog to forget about astrophysics for a while because astrophysics is hard and does my head in.) i suppose this blog is the portal to my secret internet life. i mostly post about music and individuals within the music industry (particularly the gallaghers) (i have oasis feelings). i enjoy music rather a lot but i can’t play any instruments or sing or anything, but that’s okay! i’ve managed to score myself a band anyway! we’re called sara and the hats (me being the eponymous sara) and i play the cereal box/tambourine/maracas and sing off-key. we’re pretty cool (also read as tragic).

aside from my musical ambitions, i’m an avid cinema buff. i also like comic books but i don’t have much time to read them any more, or read in general (although you can see my reading list here). sometimes i help my friends jamie, mikey and matt make films. i also co-host a show with jamie on my university’s radio station. my other hobbies include writing and drawing; i will probably not post any writing over here because all my writing is lame, but i have a sketchblog! once one of my pictures got made into a postcard by jasper fforde (my lame to fame). if you want one and don’t mind giving your address away to an internet stranger, you’re free to hit me up because i have a whole stack of them to give away.

other things: i’m vegetarian, asexual (and possibly aromantic), and a feminist/humanist and sometimes i blog about that. this is probably the most important post on my blog about me and asexuality. i was also born and raised muslim although i am pretty non-religious and suffering a small crisis of faith. i fancy myself a bit of a mod and one day want to own a scooter. culturally, i’m probably stuck in the 90s. i wouldn’t change my year of birth if i could, though! aesthetically i like gutter chic and clean-cut classy sixties things, which has created a bit of a clash in my wardrobe. i’m an only child and a textbook capricorn. i am an INTJ, slightly obsessive and i whinge an awful lot. anxiety cat/awkward penguin/emotionally volatile bear is basically my life. you can hear me being awkward here (and here)!

once upon a time i used to joke about noel gallagher being the perfect man. i have since realised that he is, in fact, said perfect man, so joke’s on me really.

heroes include: nicky wire, johnny marr, paul weller, edgar wright, noely g, jessica hynes & charles lamb. i need more female role models, help!
